About the Author: Meet C. B. Maria
Behind every children's book is a story.
Mine began at home.
When I became a mother, I quickly realized how much influence books have on a child's thoughts, beliefs, and emotions. Storytime wasn't just about reading—it was an opportunity to teach kindness, confidence, gratitude, and love.
Like many parents, I searched for books that reflected the values I wanted to pass on to my daughters.
Some did.
Many didn't.
So I decided to write my own.
How Cute Simple Stories Began
Cute Simple Stories started with one simple idea:
Create children's books that leave kids feeling happier than they were before they opened them.
I wanted stories that reminded children to believe in themselves, appreciate the beauty around them, choose kindness, and understand that they are deeply loved.
The first books I wrote weren't meant for bookstores.
They were meant for my own children.
Every page was written with them in mind, inspired by real conversations, family adventures, and the lessons we were learning together.
As I shared these stories with friends and family, I realized many other parents were looking for the same thing—books that encouraged positive thinking while still being fun, colorful, and engaging.
That's when Cute Simple Stories was born.
Inspired by Real Life
One of the things that makes my books unique is that every story comes from a real season of our family's life.
As my daughters grow, the lessons in my books grow with them.
When they were younger, I wanted to encourage imagination, creativity, and exploration.
That inspired Little Bird, Big Moon, a story celebrating all the wonderful things children love to do—from swimming and dancing to singing, painting, and exploring the world around them.
Later, as my oldest daughter started school, she faced new social situations and began learning about confidence, comparison, and staying true to herself.
Those experiences inspired Sunny Chooses Joy, a story that reminds children it's okay to shine, celebrate their gifts, and inspire others simply by being themselves.
Many parents ask where my ideas come from.
The answer is simple.
I write the books my own children need.
A Family Adventure
I am proud to be a mother of three wonderful girls who inspire me every single day.
Our family loves traveling, exploring nature, discovering new cultures, and finding adventure wherever we go.
Whether we're hiking, visiting a new country, trying different foods, or simply spending an afternoon at the park, those experiences often find their way into my stories.
Childhood is full of beautiful moments.
I hope my books help families notice and celebrate them.
The Message Behind Every Story
Although each book tells a different story, they all share the same heart.
I want children to grow up believing:
They are loved.
They are enough.
Kindness matters.
Every challenge has a solution.
Joy can be chosen.
Dreams are worth chasing.
Life is beautiful.
These are the messages I hope stay with children long after the last page has been turned.
My Background
I was born and raised in Canada and come from an Argentine family.
Growing up with different cultures taught me to appreciate diversity, family traditions, and the beauty of seeing the world through different perspectives.
Today, I love sharing that same sense of curiosity and adventure with my daughters.
The world is full of incredible people, places, and experiences, and I hope my books encourage children to explore it with open hearts.
Looking Ahead
So far, I've written four children's picture books:

But this is only the beginning.
As my daughters continue growing, so will the lessons we learn together—and those lessons will continue inspiring new stories for families around the world.
My greatest hope is that every child who reads one of my books feels a little more peaceful, a little more confident, and a little more hopeful.
Because at the end of the day, my message is simple:
Life is beautiful.
It's all love.
